Ratcat - This Nightmare

Go Go/Everything Is Happening Again/True Lust/Tonight Today/The Killing Joke/She's A Gas/If I Said/Feels So Good/Baby's Got A Gun/The Eyeball Mutiny/ It's Over/Dead Dog Standing
The first Ratcat song that I heard was "That Ain't Bad", from the "Tingles" EP. Ratcat continuously released awesome tracks that I loved, along with the amazing album, "Blind Love". I then was lucky enough to aquire an earlier album they had released called "This Nightmare", which was just as good as all the other Ratcat stuff that I had already heard so here it is.

Billy Thorpe - That I Love

That I Love/Over The Rainbow

This single was released in 1964 and the label shows "That I Love" as the A-side but "Over The Rainbow" went on to #1. I'm fairly sure that this did not appear on any album besides the 1965 complation ."That I Love " is a Tony Barber original and a right little foot stomper it is while "Over The Rainbow" is the Judy Garland classic which Billy made his own.

Bill Gate and Boyd Robertson were mates at Naenae College in Wellington when they began singing together, adapting the style of America's Everly Brothers. They recorded a remarkable thirty-two singles between 1960 and 1978, and
continued performing the club circuit in Australia until the late eighties. From the beginning they were always more popular with parents than teenagers, probably just a little too nice for rock and roll.
In 1964 Bill and Boyd moved to Australia on the strength of their first Australian hit "Chulu Chululu". It was a bright, sing-along song recorded live at the Rotorua Sound Shell in New Zealand. The talented pair were quick to gain popularity, appearing regularly on TV, particularly on Bandstand, and working clubs around Australia. They left for America early in 1968, touring with the Supremes and Herb Alpert. On their return to Australia, they established themselves as a top club act. In 1970, they joined Ron Tudor's newly formed Fable label. Their first release, in July 1970, was a version of "It's A Small World" which, although a steady seller, didn't quite make the top 40. They had several releases of singles and albums over the next four years. It wasn't until 1975 that they had their most success, after recording a song called "Santa Never Made It Into Darwin". The song documented the events of Cyclone Tracy that devastated the city of Darwin on Christmas eve 1974. The song made it to number 1 on the Australian national charts. Their 1975 album release was "Bill and Boyd". It was released in two formats, the first from Fable and the second from Axis. The Axis version contains three extra songs, two of which have not been available anywhere else at the time. Another single called "Put Another Log On The Fire" followed, and Bill and Boyd were a household name in Australia. After that they took a break from recording and concentrated on touring

Farmhouse - Seltitled

Jet Airliner/These Boots Are Made For Walking/Crosstown Traffic/Crawfish/To Hard To Handle/Stuck In The Middle/Polk Salad Annie/Thing About You/No Reason/Under A Stormy Sky
Released in 1991 Farmhouse was an ensemble of Personalities from channel 7 Australia. Georgie Parker an actor who starred in "A Country Practice "and "All Saints" Julie McGregor(Betty) Chris Tuswell(Nudge) from "Hey Dad" Michael Horrocks presenter on the childrens program "Cartoon Connection" and the pop music program "Video Hits" and Emily Symons "Marilyn" in "Home And Away". I picked this up today at Vinnie's and was going to post this elsewhere as an Aussie Shocker but on listening to it found it wasn't half bad. The Georgie Parker tune "These Boots are Made For Walking" Reached #58 on the Australian ARIA Charts the standouts for me though were "Cross Town Traffic" the Hendrix song sung here by Emily Symons and "Stuck In The Middle" Julie McGregor. The album has a great sound owing to the fact that there is great band backing the group which includes Russell Dulop "Drums" Mark Punch "Guitars" Tania Bowers "Backing Vocals".
