The Hi-Marks

The Hi-Marks comprised three brothers- Hayward, George, Ellington 'Butch' Ruka, and their nephew John Ruka.
The group was originally formed in Auckland and this group eventually became a top concert group. The Hi-Marks concentrated mainly on reviving songs by 'The Platters', 'The Mill Brothers' as well as their own traditional Maori music
The Hi-Marks entered talent quests - always finishing with a placing and around Christmas they would appear in several cabarets around Auckland. Appearances on Television followed with spots on 'Club Show' and 'Telethon'

Sharon O'Neill - Physical Favours

O'Neill began her career in the 1970s in her home country New Zealand, then gained major success in Australia with the hit "Words" and the subsequent singles "How Do You Talk to Boys?" "Maybe" "Losing You" and "Power".
The early 1980s proved her most commercially successful period, composing and performing the soundtrack to the 1981 film "Smash Palace", and with the Foreign Affairs album in 1983 spawning her biggest hit "Maxine" , a song which chronicled the life of a Kings Cross prostitute. A legal battle with her then record company Sony caused a delay in her career.
In 1987 Sharon returned with arguably her best album (if under-rated at the time) Danced in the Fire "Physical Favours" was lifted from that album the B-Side "Satin And Stone" is a non album track.

Tina Arena (born 1 November 1967) is an Australian singer, songwriter and musical theatre actress. Over her long career in the entertainment industry she has won numerous awards, most notably 6 ARIA Awards and in both 1996 and 2000 she received the World Music Award for the world's best selling Australian artist. She has sold approximately 8 million records worldwide to date.Arena began her career as a 7-year-old, singing live on Australia's longest running variety television show, Young Talent Time. Even as a young girl she was known for her powerful voice and stage presence, but she dropped from sight for several years following her Young Talent Time tenure, working the club circuit alone and in bands and appearing in musicals. In 1988, at the age of 21, she was reinvented as a raunchy disco diva with the national #3 Platinum selling single "I Need Your Body". It gave her a successful album, Strong as Steel.


Symphony of Life" is a pop-dance song written by Tina Arena and Peter-John Vettese, produced by Vettese for Arena's fifth album Just Me (2001). It was released as the albums third single in Australia on September 16, 2002 and the second single from the album in France in October 2002. It was a successful single, becoming Arena's fifth top ten single in Australia #8 and her sixth top fifty single in France, where the song was least successful.
