Jack Davey - Thanks For The Memory

Jack Davey was one of the great radio personalities of the 40's and 50's some may say the greatest, all of your mums and dads would remember his call sighn 'Hi, Ho! Everybody!' I vaugley remember it as a toddler.

No talk back in those days but Jack was king of the Quiz shows.

Comments or lack of

Once again due to the fragile nature of my ego it would be nice to have a few more comments this serves two purposes 1 it makes me feel good and secondly it helps me to know what to post this saves me the time of posting music that nobody wants, looking forward to a few more comments and thanks to those who do comment.

Rebecca's Empire were an indie pop-rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The band, wqs based around singer-songwriter Rebecca Barnard and her partner, Shane O'Mara.This single came from the debut 1996 album "Way of All Things" and did not chart the band released one other album "Welcome" 2 EP'S and a number of singles, after the initial success of the first album sales were poor and the band called it a day in 2000 Rebecca Barnard then went on to a solo career.

Tex Perkins is an Australian singer-songwriter, who is widely known for fronting the popular Australian rock-band The Cruel Sea, but has also performed with the Beasts of Bourbon, Thug, James Baker Experience, The Butcher Shop and Salamander Jim also has numerous solo recordings to his credit.

Don Walker is an Australian musician and songwriter most famous for writing many of the hits for legendary band, Cold Chisel. He played piano and keyboard with the band from 1973 to 1983 and has recorded solo.

Charlie Owen is an Australian guitar player. He has a been member of The Beasts of Bourbon, Tex Perkins and The Dark Horses, Maurice Frawley and The Working Class Ringos, Tendrils, the Divinyls and Tex Perkins and his Ladyboyz and was previously a member of Ninja Skill, Charlie Owen Quintet, Tango Bravo, The New Christs, Paris Green, Louis Tillett and His Cast of Aspersions and Catfish so he has been around and had frequent liason with both Tex and Don so it was only natural that the 3 would unite as Tex Don and Charlie.


This CD is a sampler for the then upcoming 2005 All Is Forgiven platter.

This album is by ex front man for the Runners Mark Edwards it didn't receive much attention at the time which is a pity as it's quit a good album.

This has been posted on Skids Ausrock Blog and Midoztouch but it was some time ago and some of you may have missed it, as I picked it up today for the princely sum of $1 I thought I may as well post it here.The album contains the minor hit ' World's Away'. The other singles released from this album were 'Land Of The Living', ' Only A Love' and 'Somebody Like You'. Guest artists on the album are Sharon O'Neill, Ricky Fataar, Venetta Fields, James Morrison.

Stephen Cummings (born 13 September 1954, Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian rock singer-songwriter and writer. He was lead singer of Melbourne-based rock band, The Sports, during 1976–1981 and before that vocalist in the Pelaco Brothers along With Joe Camilleri, after the break up of Sports he launched his solo career which has met with critical acclaim but has had limited commercial success. This is the second single from his 1994 album Falling Swinger the first track is a duet with Toni Childes followed by a solo version then 2 George Harrison tracks.
