Real Life - Lifetime

Real Life is a Melbourne-based Australian New Wave/Synthpop band that had hits with its debut single, "Send Me an Angel" (1983) and with "Catch Me, I'm Falling" (1984), both of which were featured on the band's debut album Heartland (1983).

In the wake of "Send Me an Angel '89"'s success, David Sterry decided to continue Real Life without co-founder Richard Zatorski — and it took him a while to get his footing. While the late-'90s incarnation of Real Life added some goth to its mettle and made for some frightening new wave hybrid music, Lifetime seems too willing to coast on the formula Sterry had perfected. "God Tonight" is the requisite single with the requisite Real Life synth hook anchoring a perfect piece of dance-pop. But it feels less like Sterry's heart is in it and more the result of Real Life suddenly becoming a phenomenonmore… again on the basis of the "Angel" re-release. "Kiss the Ground," "Push of Love," and "Let's Start a Fire" are all perfectly solid synth pop songs — but, alas, the era of synth pop was over by 1990 and Sterry had yet to discover the type of music that would ultimately make Real Life great again. While it was great to have a new Real Life album (and it was still better than much of the pop music out at the time), it feels too much like a commercial product rather than a labor of passion like Heartland or Flame. "Send Me an Angel" ended up being David Sterry's albatross — his best-known work, but one from which he could never escape. It would be nearly a decade before Sterry recovered his footing and made Real Life truly relevant — and truly scary — again.

The Groop - Great Hits From The Groop

Mad Over You/Downtown Women/Woman You're Breaking Me/The Gun And Flowerpot Trick/I'm Satisfied/Little Man/Here She Comes/Empty Words/The Best In Africa/Ham And Eggs

The cover suggests that this is a greatest hits package of this incarnation of the Groop when in fact there are only 3 songs by this lineup the first three tracks all from the "Woman You're Breaking Me"album would have been nice to have Sorry on here, and the rest of the tracks are from the first lineup's "I'm Satisfied" and "The Groop" albums.

There is some great info on the band here on Milesago :

Pardon Me Boys - Pardon Me Boys

In 1985 Ignatius Jones formerly of Jimmy and the Boys formed the band Pardon Me Boys, an affectionate and slightly irreverent salute to the hits of the 30s and 40s, with the smallest hint of speakeasy sleaze, the big band swing of Glenn Miller and the heavenly harmonies of the Andrew Sisters. It grew from a 3 piece vocal group into the incredibly popular 13 piece dance band extravaganza. MonicaTrapaga was a member of the band, we all know her from her time as the presenter on Playschool and her own band Monica and The Moochers the other mainstay is William O'Riordan or as you may remember him Joylene Hairmouth also from Jimmy and the Boys.

Eurogliders - We Will Together

We Will Together/Wildfire

Eurogliders were an Indie pop band formed in 1980 in Perth, Western Australia, which included mainstays Grace Knight on vocals and Bernie Lynch on guitar and vocals. In 1984, Eurogliders released an Australian top ten album, This Island, which spawned their #2 hit single, "Heaven (Must Be There)". "Heaven" also peaked at #21 on the United States, Billboard Mainstream Rock charts and appeared on the Hot 100. Another Australian top ten album, Absolutely, followed in 1985, which provided three further local top ten singles, "We Will Together", "The City of Soul" and "Can't Wait to See You". They disbanded in 1989, with Knight having a successful career as a jazz singer. The band reformed in 2005 to release two additional albums by 2007. "We Will Together" made it to #7 on the Australian charts the B-side was a live track recorded at the Hordern Pavillion and taken from the video Eurogliders Live In Concert.

Johnny Diesel And The Injectors - Don't Need Love

Don't Need Love/Never Last

The single was released in 1988 it came in a limited edition cover and both sides were on the "Johnny Diesel & The Injectors" album. Don't Need Love made it to #10 on the charts and stayed in the charts for 24 weeks not a bad run.

From The Vault Vol.1 No.1

From The Vault what a great concept it was and a great read a pity it was so short lived only 8 volumes published. I thought I had lost mine as I hadn't sighted them since I moved 4 years ago. But then today while digging around looking for what I can't remember I spied the big box with all my VHS videos that I hope one day to convert so I thought I'd have a look in the box to refresh my memory as to what I had in there and lo and behold there down the bottom of the big box were my From The Vault mags oh happy days. So as most people with too much time on their hands do I decided to scan Vol.1 No.1 so here it is for those of you who were never lucky enough to purchase it all 36 pages. Now a small request for some reason I was never able to get my hands on Vol.2 No.2 does anyone out there have it and if some one does would you be able to scan it for me. Over the coming months I'll do the others I have if there is any interest.

Various - Hair Vol. 2

Aquarius/Manchester England/Don't Put It Down/ Walking In Space/Be In/Good Morning Starshine/3500/What A Piece Of Work Is Man/Abie Baby/Flesh Failures (Let The Sunshine In)/ Hair

I think everybody knows what hair the musical is so I won't go into that. If you want the serious Australian cast version you can get that at Midoztouch. This album is a budget priced album that was obviously put together to cash in on the musical Hair and has the usual cast of unknowns but not quite, there are 3 principal singers 2 gals Janie Day and Susan Casey of whom I know nothing (anybody?) and the guy none other than Johnny Devlin probably short on cash. Some of the songs are quite good in a Budget sort of way they don't quite have polish of the original but I still found it an interesting listen.
I did a bit of searching to get some info on the musicians pretty hard to come by but did find out that Philip Eizenberg was a member of the Ferrets and Southern Comfort with Bobbi Marchini, Mike Bukovsky was in Marcia Hines Band during the Seventies and Ivan Sultanoff name pops up here and there he was involved with 2006 Commonwealth games opening and appears on the the Nick Cave movie sountrack "To Have And To Hold" the others not really any mention that I could be sure was them, there's a full list of those involved on the back scan. The songs they seem to have changed around to suit themselves one example is the song Three-Five-Zero-Zero which has turned into a fairly long jazz jam but probably one of the best things on this album anyway give it a listen tell me what you think.

Debbie Byrne - Tears

Tears/Something To Remember

Apparently around this time Deb was having some serious health issues and here career had hit the wall but still and all not a bad single for someone that had lost her way. This was released in 1981 and as far as I can tell hasn't appeared on any album and unfortunately for Debbie it did not chart.
