Tracey, Munro, Tracey - Nightpiece

Great Storm/Portrait Of A Lady/Miss Robertson's Reel/ Kelvin Grove/Nightpiece/Too Close To The Wind/The Stolen Child/ Bonny George Campbell-Green Cathedral/Reedy River/Giolla Mear

For those of you that like a bit of folk another great album sent to me by RAM some nice tunes on this album not your traditional style folk album.

John Munro was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1947 and emigrated to Australia at the age of 18. Having had a flirtation with Folk Music in his home country John soon headed for the local folk haunts. He admits to being a founder member of Country Express and Colcannon and, more through luck than talent, has worked since 1980 as accompanist to Eric Bogle.

In his latter work (with Eric Bogle) he has toured Canada, the USA and the UK four times, Europe three times and side trips to Bermuda and New Zealand. John's recording credits include 8 albums with Eric, four with Country Express, nine with Colcannon, three with Gordon Mcintyre and Kate Delaney, two with Mike Quarmby and one with Margaret Christl (Canada), Mary-Jane Field (Sydney), Irene Petrie, Denis and Lynne Tracey, as well as countless guest appearances.

Denis Tracey has been well-known performer in Australian folk music for many years, performing at all the major festivals including Woodford, Port Fairy and the National Folk Festival in Canberra. Lynne Tracey edited the book "Contemporary Australian Folksongs - The Song Goes On".
